Employer Opportunities
The Employment Alternatives for International Medical Doctors (IMDs) project provides
IMDs with a comprehensive employment preparation program, which will support their entry
into appropriate health sector employment or retraining. The program is intended to be flexible and meet the needs of prospective
employers. Employers have many opportunities to explore the potential of International Medical Doctors through:
- mentoring
- job shadowing
- integration into existing volunteer programs
- internships
- work placements
- direct employment
Depending on circumstances, there may be employment
subsidies such as:
- Employment Insurance
- Ontario Works
- Job Connect
- Other
